OUR HOSPITALS

Abbotsford Regional Hospital

Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Centre (ARHCC) is a 300-bed Canadian health care facility in the City of Abbotsford, British Columbia that houses the acute care Abbotsford Regional Hospital (ARH) operated by Fraser Health and the regional cancer facility (Abbotsford Centre) operated by the BC Cancer Agency.

ARHCC opened in 2008 as:

  • The first new hospital built in the province in 30 years
  • The first hospital in Western Canada to have a cancer centre integrated in its design from the ground up
  • Canada’s first newly constructed hospital to meet LEED Gold environmentally friendly standards
  • The largest construction project to date in the Fraser Valley
  • The first in the province to be built using a (P3) public-private partnership model.

It is also the city’s largest worksite in terms of number of employees. The facility offers both inpatient and outpatient services to residents of Abbotsford and regional services to other communities in the eastern Fraser Valley (Mission, Chilliwack, Hope, etc.)

Hospital Services

Fraser Health’s Abbotsford Regional Hospital provides community hospital services to Abbotsford residents and regional services to about 330,000 residents of the eastern Fraser Valley. These services include:

Current Projects

Endobronchial Ultrasound Units (x3) $460,000 each

This advanced endoscopy unit is critical for diagnosing lung cancer, a disease projected to increase by 10% annually. The unit’s capabilities include performing guided biopsies through the bronchial wall, allowing precise access to lymph nodes and masses outside the central airway. Currently, this procedure is available only at Royal Columbian Hospital. Introducing this technology at Abbotsford Regional Hospital will enhance accessibility, allowing patients to receive vital, specialized care closer to home, reducing travel burdens, and improving the patient experience in the Fraser Valley region.
