As Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation wraps up an incredible year, the organisation reflects on significant achievements and expresses heartfelt gratitude to donors, supporters, and community members.
Your unwavering support has been instrumental in improving health and wellness across the hospitals this year, and we look forward to your continued partnership in the year ahead.
Throughout 2024, we reached remarkable milestones, each contributing to our mission of providing exceptional healthcare in the Fraser Valley. We kicked off the year with generous donors gathering at the Table Bistro in February to help fund a Bili Blanket for the NICU department at Abbotsford Regional Hospital (ARH).
February also saw our successful “Step Up for Cardiac Health” event, which engaged our healthy community and raised vital funds.
We have also been focusing our efforts on the South Asian community through events such as, the Spring Fling and received great financial support.
In May, we united 160 participants for our annual “Run for Mom,” raising significant funds to support our hospital community.
Our annual gala proved to be a highlight, raising $200,000 for vital programs and services as attendees enjoyed a wonderful atmosphere focused on local health advocacy.
Our achievements would not have been possible without our extraordinary donors.
Some of the equipment we have purchased in the year allowed us to provide better health care for our patients-in-care. Below are just a few examples of the impactful ways in which our donors made the year special.
Thanks to the donation from Sansar and Sawtantra Chauhan, residents living with dementia at the Bradley Centre Long Term Care Facility are now benefiting from ABBY, an innovative ambient activity technology.
In Chilliwack, Heritage Village received music equipment, enriching therapeutic activities among its residents.
And Mission Memorial Hospital, through the generosity of the Mission Health Care Auxiliary Society, received essential medical equipment valued at over $35,160, further advancing quality care.
In an effort to enhance rehabilitation services, ARH received innovative physiotherapy equipment for their NeuroGym. And we also had the Sandhar family donate funds towards lifesaving technology for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at ARH.
Additionally, a new bus donated to Foundry’s Adolescent Day Treatment Program helped facilitate better transportation for our youth in need.
We were thrilled to receive a $20,000 donation from local entrepreneur Jonathan Christian founder of We Make Stuff Happen. This remarkable contribution coincides with the launch of our newly revamped and user-friendly website, designed by We Make Stuff Happen.
Towards the end of the year we received a generous donation, $619, 600, from The Crystal Gala Foundation to purchase a new MRI machine and software to detect breast cancer. The Foundations’ ongoing support has allowed us to help our community for several years.
We also opened our door to youth learning wherein local girl guides group participated in activities in the Simulation (SIM) lab and X-ray department to learn more about the diverse things we do in health care to help patients-in-care.
As we reflect on this past year, we are deeply grateful for the extraordinary support we received. Together, we have made a real difference in the lives of many. We look forward to an even more impactful 2025 and hope to continue partnering with our dedicated supporters and community members.
